There’s a rumor where I work that Scott Adams gets, like, 90% of his inspiration and ideas from the company I work for.
I dimly recall a Dilbert cartoon where, instead of actually manufacturing or selling product (or services), the main output of a company was its continual name changes and internal org shifts.
The company where I work has been sending out near weekly memos announcing bold new strategies to focus on the customer by … changing the name of an internal group and appointing a new VP in charge of that group. New VP pops up, spurts out a mission statement, then disappears again forever.
I have no idea if we make or sell anything any more.
Now go ‘way. I gotta go update all my spreadsheets and Powerpoint© presentations!
